Excess Sweating of Hands, Feet and Body

Unfortunately, the body likes to do crazy things sometimes. Excessive sweating is one of them. Primary hyperhidrosis is a condition that causes abnormal sweating not related to exercise or high temperatures. It can affect different areas of the body, including severe palmar, plantar hyperhidrosis (involving the hands or feet) and body, and can often cause social distress or general embarrassment.

Dr Auteri can offer a long term solution to excessive body, underarm, hands and feet sweating. The treatment involves a special technique using a series of very small injections of anti-wrinkle solution to areas where excessive sweating occurs. The injected product blocks the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive the chemical signals, the severe sweating stops. The procedure only takes about 20 minutes.

You should see a reduction in sweating within four weeks of the first treatment. Results have been shown to be highly effective for about seven months.

The important question… Is it safe?

The therapy used for treating hyperhidrosis has been used worldwide since 1989 for a variety of conditions, including cerebral palsy in children and movement disorders (head, neck, shoulder and face). As with all medicines, the injected product for the treatment of hyperhidrosis may cause some side effects. Generally any side effects experienced with the hyperhidrosis solution are temporary. The most common side effects are a perceived increase in sweating in areas other than the underarms, hands or feet, pain at the injection site, hot flushes, and transient arm weakness. You may be unsuitable for hyperhidrosis treatment if you have defective neuromuscular transmission disorders, have infections at the site of injection, are pregnant or lactating.
